Just thought people would like to know that Tourance tyres for the 1150 GS are brilliant!

They give good feel and provide confidence in the bike. This will increase when I get my suspension sorted.

Currently I have got 15,000 miles on them and they will still do another 4,000. Have a few stones etc stuck in the tread and still good.

A week ago the front was flat when I came out of work. I had let the pressure drop too low and must have hit a pot hole. Was told that the tyre needs at least 20 psi in order to seal itself. Commuting 27 miles each way through London and working 12 to 14 hours per day burnt me out and the last thing on my mind was checking trye pressures! Never again!

Surely you mean 1,500 miles?? Can't believe anyone gets 15K miles and has another 4K - unless you're pushing the bike around
Good luck anyway - I hate em, unfortunately they came installed on my GS so I'll have to put up with them until they wear out - probably about 5 or 6K miles in total ...but that is on special Kerry roads

15,000 ???

My 1150 had newish tourances when I bought it last July (7.500 mile ago) which are looking good for a further few tho, but then I do ride like a geriatric.. 15,000.. surely this is a misprint!

Kilometers perhaps? I have got large milages out of the front tourence but certainly not the rear.

Encouraging

Encouraging words, as I bought a new pair two weeks ago, replacing them from my previous nobbly's, having read so many conflicting stories on Mezler, Battlewings, Conti, Blah blah blah, Although only a couple of hundred miles under my belt, they feel good.

i had a set on my GS did 22,000 miles i know the mileage as my bike failed mot on tyres replaced them at 62000 miles that was on mot cert and replaced them at 84k thats doing 100 mile a day up n down A13 Essex to london on my commute

How much pressure did you have in them.
LT riders put very much pressure in their tyres and tyres last long.

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Fifteen thousand miles at least. Run 34psi front and 40psi rear. Ride the bike 54 miles round trip through London every day and am always racing other bikes off the lights.

Thanks for the info, just a thought though, these were original fitment tyres for all models except the GSA, now there are 12,651 members on this site and 2,509,313,
posts. Do you think that you may possibly be trying to teach your granny to suck eggs.
Do a search for tyre threads, this is a good start http://www.ukgser.com/forums/showthread.php?t=32096 - its been about for a while

Hope that helps :rob

I get 15k from a rear Tourance. Had 20k on the last front one which was half worn but cupped making white lines feel horrible.

All motorway work and little fun makes tyres last a long time.

So it is possible.

Bridegstone Battle Wings on a 1200 are even better :hide

Fifteen thousand and they will do another four .. ??

Sigh ... I think i'm on the wrong forum ... :(

I am mightly impressed, I have never managed better than 6-8 out of a pair of tyres.
Which was better than our job bikes, tyres at 4k, pads every 1k, clutch every 6-10k.
