Why not just get some decent waterproof trousers and boots?

The best Touartech add-on I've got on my 1150GSA is the rear extender. For carrying tents, chairs etc it really is bloody superb and I'm kicking myself I hadn't bought one years ago. Would recommend it any day.

Between the rack extension and the Rok Straps, carrying stuff has never been so easy.

Paid a fortune for Hein Gericke salops last year, guess what they leak. Returned them to be told that they were not leaking as per their special testing. Tried them again and they still leak. Sorry for the thread drift but to get back on subject still miss an old Rt that had the best fairing I ever sat behind (and no I don't want to buy a new Rt) and thought that these legshields would give me adequate comfort but Gs motorcycling

Sorry to hear of your bad experience, which seems very unusual for H-G. During the winter I use a pair of H-G waterproof trousers (can't remember which type, possibly voyagers) with the Touareg boots I wear most of the year and find this combination perfectly waterproof. For me the idea of legshields sounds awful, but it's your bike and your choice and if it works for you then fair do's. Maybe someone who's actually tried some could comment.
