Touratech bits............!

Think of buying Touratech bits like this; you don't own the TT bits you are merely renting them, at some point you will sell the bike and rob it of it's bling in order to recoup some of the money you've splurged on the new one, at this point the TT stuff will easily command 50% or more of it's purchase price on the used market ;)

That's a good approach, sort of makes you feel a bit better..........maybe:)

I've just call them and mentioned the possibility of a £400 order, amd asked if I could get a discount.:comfort Was met with the expected answer of NO!:blast:D:rolleyes::D

price in a weekend break to germany and pick the stuff up from there or get a friend with an overseas address and get them to post it on:thumb

Buy the Touratech stuff, use it for four or five years then sell it for at least 60% of the current 'new' price!:thumb

I've bought new from Touratech UK.

I've 'happily' bought new from Touratech DE at their headquaters at Niedereschach and had the pleasure of attending their 2011 Travel Event.

I've 'very happily' bought second hand from Ebay or on here................If you buy second hand you can use it for four or five years and sell it on for the same price you paid for it!:thumb

The Zega/Zega Pro panniers you have on your current 12GS/GSA or another bike will fit on the new 12GSWC................Just buy some new pannier racks and if the mounting pucks are mounted centrally on your old panniers just swap the panniers from right to left and you're good to go..............See, i've just saved you at least £700:thumb

FP.

End your frame paint woes

"Sadly, the paint in this area is unable to cope even with the normal amount of stress that occurs when touring and wearing road boots"

Continue your journey, safe in the knowledge:rolleyes:

It's a sad fact that the exposed rear axle housing is invariably adversely affected when riding off-road, and often so badly damaged that it is impossible to continue travelling.

One for Bill

Riding a GS through deep water - no problem. Unfortunately not!
A small and inconspicuous valve at the cardan housing ensures the necessary ventilation and pressure exchange. If the valve gets dipped under water, moisture can get into the housing and damage the whole drive.

No change there then

When riding on wet roads of off-road, the rider instantly notices how little splash protection the GS has to offer!

:nenau I thought the new GS was water cooled.........Says in the link that the final drive guard leaves a wee space for the 'aircooled' final drive..........Only 129 euros though:thumb

Touratech UK are taking the piss....

Touratech UK, heaqdlight guard------£91.05
Touratech Germany, headlight guard........79.90euro.

At current exchnge rate 80euro is £68, thats over £20 difference:eek:

Not only are they taking the piss on prices against the German site they are also doing so on post. It is cheaper to get the stuff posted from Germany than it is against the Touratech UK post prices which are just crazy. I have ordered stiff over the phone from Germany, only ever had one problem when they told me I had to order from the UK shop. I then told them this was an illegal practice against the freedom of services rules...when the gave in an took my order.

There is absolutely no justification fro the price differential other than profiteering....vote with your feet and order through the German store.

When I say ordered "stiff" whilst their stuff is expensive I still keep the catalogue in the toilet....just in case of accidents.:D

Wow, they'd have us believe that you HAVE to have all of this shite.:blagblah I could go mad on their site, but this is one of the rare times where I shall show some restraint:D:beerjug:

It seems the paint and finish hasn't improved:blast

I thought Touratech were in bed with BMW? If they go around saying the paint is rubbish and needs protecting, BMW will soon get fed up with them:rob Or maybe they wont:blast

I had a good look at the blurb on their website, frankly I couldn't believe some of their statements, hence my little cut and paste exercise

Up to just over £400 just on some protection bits, bar risers, and a beak cover:eek: Does anyone know if we can get a discount as members here? If not, I'll have a rethink:comfort

If you get to a certain level of expenditure it is worth a trip to Germany
