Just looked at the cost of zeta pro panniers

Difference between Germany and UK is approx £200

That is just way over the top

So by the time I add protection probably going to save money

I had a long chat with Nick Plumb the other day, and he said that they just cannot match Germany's prices:rolleyes: There are some protection essentials that I want in time for the arrival of the bike, so I placed an order, but it is frustrating that there is no movement whatsoever from TT UK.:blast They really need some serious competition here:rob
 
Just a question? are the price in France the same as Germany as I woild rather visit Orange than somewhere cold in Germany.

R&D costs a bit and they have had the bike before launch, i'm sure the partnership agreement with BMW wasn't cheap and hence they are passing on the costs to you, via their distributors - to charge what the GS market will stand

Why are they 'essential'?

Not essential by any means but i'm a bit of Touratech junkie..........What can you say it's just so............German!:blast

Some of it looks good and does the job, some of it is just over the top Teutonic bling...........I've bought loads over the years for various bikes and always got a very good return selling it on afterwards.

Best way is to buy in Europe when you're there or buy second hand or buy in the UK and sell the stuff on when you change your bike...........Don't leave it on though as it makes sod all difference to the trade in value.

Some folk spend over a grand on an exhaust on a new bike..........They usually work well enough with the one they fitted in the factory!:augie

I have a few Touratech items on my 1150...
However..nothing they sell can be remotely classified as 'essential' if you think it's a ripoff, more fool you for buying the stuff!

Wether it's essential or not, they know its more of a personalisation of the bike and that's what I think they are milking:blast

I blame it on the Welsh........... I can't even pronounce the name of where Touratech are down there but i bet it's next to an old pit bing in a new 'business park' with old coal dollies at the entrence etc!:augie

Just wait til we've got independence and i'll open the Touratech Scotland franchise............Problem is we'll all be skint with all the 'jocktax' and no-one will be able to afford anything like Touratech or BMW or food......!:D

Yes. Belgium is more expensive than Germany but much cheaper than UK

E.g.

Panniers are 40 euro more expensive in Belgium than in Germany

However as Germany is £200 cheaper than Uk then worth the trip.

Belgium is 40 euro more expensive - approx £30 so taking the fuel charge to go from Gent to Rotweill still not a bad deal

Do consider that the new WC is nearly as heavy as an 1150. By the time you add all the bling you'll be blown into the dirt by a well ridden TC Oil Head. Ooo, the indignity:D

PS. The bore and stroke is the same as the oilhead 12's so unless they've lengthened the con rods you may still find that it has transmission problems.
 
TT Bits

Are the aluminium cylinder protectors worth buying, or do we have to go for the S.S crash bars ? Neither will help in a crash, but it would be sad to damage a valve cover in a topple.
 
Not only are they taking the piss on prices against the German site they are also doing so on post. It is cheaper to get the stuff posted from Germany than it is against the Touratech UK post prices which are just crazy. I have ordered stiff over the phone from Germany, only ever had one problem when they told me I had to order from the UK shop. I then told them this was an illegal practice against the freedom of services rules...when the gave in an took my order.

There is absolutely no justification fro the price differential other than profiteering....vote with your feet and order through the German store.

I've just been on the German site and it doesn't let you put a British address in.
Anyway around this as I'm not very tactfully when somebody is trying to Pam me off and getting me to buy from rip off Britain
