Touratech cylinder guards

Does anyone have them? I'm thinking of ditching the engine bars and getting these, as I very rarely go off road, and any drop over about 10mph is likely to involve an insurance claim anyway.

They don't have the rubber insert between the guard and the cylinder head, which another design has. I thought might cushion an impact and spread the load.

It looks like they come with plastic spacers.

I have them,and they come with a pack of plastic cushion stops that will ensure the guard doesn't hit the head in a minor spill

I have them as well for your reasons. I think they would work for what I need them for. If I wanted to go off road I would get the engine bears as well. You put 7 cushions on the inside of each guard.

They only fix at 2 points but seem quite secure!

I'm sure I've seen a much less substantial cover, plastic if I remember rightly and whilst I acknowledge its lack of crash resistance compared to the steel ones, I don't do off road and anything drop big enough would involve insurance.



Soooo, has anyone seen this type of cover?

Being repaired next week, got hit from behind at traffic lights while stationary.

Yes all cosmetic hand guard left hand pannier rear mudguard, foot peg and a dink in the shaft housing, came in at £1900 his insurance is paying!! Thankfully he was insured and the police witnessed it how lucky was that.
