Touratech cylinder guards

Keep the bars, Nutty

Great for drying your camping towel out on, when you're away camping :D

Keep the bars on to protect your spanking new expensive head covers from getting scratched! :augie

Seriously, It only takes a gravelled car park with an uneven camber or a few pot holes!

I know, I got caught out with my Explorer turning at walking speed. Engine Bars stopped any further damage!

I'm sure that walking speed incidents will be fine with cylinder guards and no bars though:nenau

+1:thumb2

A lightweight cheaper abs version would be nice just to back up the engine bars, and stop any minor scratches. I wouldn't be without my bars on my LC since my recent Explorer incident

no i don't think so - Ive dropped a stationary GS (with guards) and depending on the slope/ camber the bike can roll 'tits up' which grounds the upper part of the head cover. What you're thinking only really works if you can 'lay it down' - in my experience.

The bars are much better with the slower speed stuff.... of less use in a higher speed off.

Right, I've managed to get the right side cylinder guard with the engine bars, and it fits fine.:clap The left side looks much tighter, but Touratech has confirmed that they will fit with the BMW bars. The left side bar will need to be removed to fit it, so I'll get that done on Saturday when the bike goes in for new tyres.:thumb

So you are fitting the touratech guards with the genuine BMW engine bars?

I'll be looking forward hearing how you get on re the fitting, and to seeing the pickies! :jibber

I'm going to try! The right side fits, no problem.:thumb I may go for a 50/50 look:P

just off a KTM 990SMT

Jason, similar path to me in that I moved form years of GS's to the SMT for a bit more fun but found it a bit too raw and SWMBO wasn't happy on it. Loved the way it made me ride like a goon, but didn't last. Early days on the WC, but lovin' it so far :-).

I'm just going for the touratech cylinder guards though they don;t seem as ridgedly attached as they were on my previous GS.

Just fitted the left cylinder guard, and it fits with the BMW bars (but does touch one point of the bar slightly):beerjug:
