touratech top box base plate

hey guys

was just wonaering if you guys had seen this before or if it was just my bad luck. again. the plate is for a touratech top box that fits to an adv.

forgot to mention that thats a crack running nearly all the way across the plate. sorry for poor pic quality, its from my phone.

Im sure someone complained of this very fault last year sometime.
As far as I recall, it was almost exactly the same

Touratech top box base plate - cracked

I also have cracked base plate almost identical to the example shown.

I need to replace this part; did you manage to identify the part from touratech?

Like folks know, overpriced crap.

TT will say that you have been overloading the topbox anyway.

Cracked top box plate

I had exactly the same problem with my top box plate. Bought it second hand with a small crack and was not worried but the vibrations caused the crack to appear across the whole plate, just like yours.

My solution was to buy another piece of aluminium and cut the required holes out with a dremmel. in order to prevent the same thing happening, I was advised to strap down the top, reducing vibration.
