In Ride magazine this month. RT gets the vote but I guess it is all down to the individual. Having ridden it a few times I like it but not as versatile as the GS Adventure for my needs.

Just swapped my 2015 GSA for a 2016 RT, I guess it depends on your needs. I realised my riding was 95% two-up and 100% on road, and as much as I love my GSA the RT is just better in those circumstances.

I wanted to retain the Boxer engine and accommodate my wife better so the RT was a no brainer.

As far as other tourers go? Triumph Trophy looks ugly, Yamaha FJR looks outdated, Kawasaki GTR IS outdated, and the Honda Pan Euro is prehistoric.......

.......so RT it is then!

Can't argue with that ! ( I owned an FJR once , they really are very good though) sadly outdated now. Why don't the Japanese invest in design, like KTM, Triumph, Ducati and BMW. They are fools ....they have thrown "their " market away.

I rode my friends RT and its good, (looks dull and unexciting imho) but I wouldn't want one because it doesn't have an LED headlight.. I couldn't see a thing at night.
Why BMW do BMW only fit the new light to the GS ?

The 2016 FJR has got all the bells and whistles. You'd be hard pressed to tell the difference to the 2015 model. LED lights, 6th gear and cornering lights, new dash design, screen etc.

I think KTM has released it already.

I was surprised how much heavier the other bikes were mentioned in the RIDE article. I am always wondering which lighter bike to look at one day but perhaps I need not bother.

I find the GSA LED light TOO bright! I am forever being flashed by drivers who think I am on full beam. I rode the GSA on a dark road with full beam and driving lamps and it was like daytime! My RT has headlight plus, not sure what the difference is.
