Had this come up yesterday Guys.
What’s the likely scenario, Knackered TPMS Sensors?

I typed out a reply and it disappeared. More than likely the batteries. Can be replaced but isn't easy, I tried it and didn't work for me. Others have had success. Loads of youtube vids on it. Can get new ones on Aliexpress which work most of the time. Have a look at the link, that may help.

Thanks for the Reply.
I'll get it to a Diagnostic first I think, then I guess it's time for yet another Wallet Opening Event.
For a very Low Mileage, Well Serviced Bike, this has been a proper Money Pit!

the batteries last about 10 years 30k miles - time awake/mileage is a part of it as they are on more often

Be careful what you buy, I fitted new ones I got online cheap from Spain as BMW wanted over £100 each. One worked, one didn’t (Bike now sold.)

I have a small battery powered spot welder for nickel battery straps, if I have the issue again with my 1250 I will try to dremel out the old CR2023 coin cell battery from the sensor if possible and spot-weld a new one in its place.

The ones in the Link above are from Autodoc

There are two types apparently, the ones in the Link being the later ones I believe.
According to what I read in another Thread (assuming I understood it correctly), they are interchangeable.

Do they not wake up after a couple of miles.
unusual for both to fail at the same time.
these will suit your bike Ebay see photo attached.
If they need waking up or coding to the ECU after you have them fitted I can do that for you.

Hi Chris.
They started acting up last week, first just the Rear, then just the Front.
Then they both came back to life for a while.
Then yesterday the Rear failed first, shortly followed by the Front.
That’s when the Warning Lights came on.
I guess it makes sense for both Batteries to die within fairly rapid succession?
🤷‍♂️

I used the ones in the Autodoc link on my 09. Thought I had an issue but it turned out my wake up tool wasn't working, new one sorted it. I needed to get the new mounting valves as well because the originals were the banana shaped ones with the stem built in.

They are made by Schrader as are the originals, KTMs use this style as well. I think you can get ones that need programming and RadioFlyer in the link mentions programming them for a 2010 Saturn.

Upshot is they work on older models 👍

FWIW they are notoriously awkward to "wake up", I have the compatible wake up tool for a Vauxhall that also shares the same frequency as the BMW tool. It took me quite a few goes to wake the bloody things up so my GS911 could recognise them.

When replacing them, wipe a very thin smear of silicone grease on the rubber lip seal of the new sensor to lubricate it so it doesn't bind in the hole when fitting or leak.

nintendo ones come with link already on the batteries so you aren't trying the impossible

fake Chinese sensors are about £40 a pair ?

I've got this same issue on my 2010 GS - is it an MOT fail or can I just ignore it and carry on? Never needed a tyre pressure sensor before so if I can get away without it, I'll leave it.
