Hi all,

Since a little while, fuel consumption on my 1150GSA has gone up(440 kms with a tankful in stead of 500+kms). I checked the TPS voltage today and found it to be way off: 0.45 V. I have reset this to 0.35V now.

Could this have to do anything with the higher fuel consumption?

What are the consequences of riding with a higher TPS setting. Is this required in certain circumstances (dealer installed a CAT replacement, ceramic clutch and a new gearbox). Can it cause engine damage?

Tnx for your comments all

cheers

don't think it does any harm, but once tps goes over .4 i think CPU sees it as a fault.

Demito, could your increased fuel consumption be anything to do with Winter grade fuel from the pumps?
Whatton posted on this subject very recently and several people reckoned it decreased their tank range.

No. I have the problem since end of october. I don't think there was any winter grade fuel at the pumps at that time was there?

According to Whatton, the fuel changes over at the end of august over here. Which tied neatly in with my bike pinking more than usual and using a bit more fuel from roughly that time. Although the fact that I hadn't serviced it for a good 3 miles might have had something to do with it
