Hi all
So bit of a long one and hope someone can help
I had to change the left side tb bought from eBay fitted it did a tps reset but the throttle stop wast on the throttle body so added the one off my old tb I didn’t check tps with voltmeter so connected everything back up did the sequence then started it it went on full revs straight away without touching the throttle 😳anyone got any ideas thanks very much 🙏

Almost certainly this is going to be the throttle cable out of it's socket. Check that the cable is properly installed in the groove in the quadrant, and that the outer sheathe is properly in the hole both ends.

Hi and thanks for the reply so I’ve changed the splitter box and cables previous to the left throttle body maybe I need to check and see if there’s anything there but both sides are seated ok on throttle body

Look behind both the throttle bodies and check if the throttle body wheels which operate the butterflies are fully against their stops

There is no way a TPS can make the bike go full revs. Its only purpose is to match the fuel flow to the throttle position. Previous comments are likely reasons.

Absolutely……..

You can even disconnect the TPS and the bike will still run.

Yes there absolutely is! as iv'e found out today. Bought the Delphi shit copy from Motorworks fitted did tps reset on GS 911, started engine and thought it was going to take off!!

Quick phone call with Mickeyboy and he suggested cables had come adrift from splitter box so i checked but they were both fine.

So i then took the tank off (which of course was full!) took cover off the front of the splitter box and low and behold the left hand cable was stuck out of the wheel, i then loosened the TPS and it snapped back into place, tightened it again and it stuck, loosened and heard and saw it snap back so im faced with putting locktite on the bolts and fitting them without tightening or exchanging the shit unit for a genuine BMW one in the morning which is what i think im going to do.

Hope this helps others left scratching their heads after fitting the shit Delphi SS10562-12B1 unit.

Well no... Not really. The problem wasn't the TPS. It was the splitter box. You programmed the control unit with false TPS data.

So you tricked the bike into a 0-100 fuel map.

I don't think I've ever seen that before. 😂

Don’t think you understand what I mean. What im saying is the when tightened the tps flexes causing it to stick so when the throttle is opened it doesn’t close and the cable jumps up in the splitter box, loosen the two bolts on the tps and it snaps back as you would expect.

So I’ve deemed the Delphi tps as dangerous and definitely won’t be using it. Loosened the screws right off this morning to the point where the o-ring no longer contacts the throttle body gave the throttle several good twists and cable stuck a couple of times, imagine that happening during a ride! Anyway contacted Motorworks and proper BMW one on its way!
