Is it for insurance purposes?
If so datatool or bikertrac
If its just to play at and give yourself a false sense of security then monimoto or airtags
This.
No false alarms, also reports in whilst in the garage.
No issues with bike battery drainage. Still had enough internal battery power to provide a signal over 2 months after being removed from the bike - after being written off.

My used bike came with a Datatool tracker like the ones BMW fit as standard, except instead of being plug and play mine was hard wired into the bike loom.
It had to be replaced as it was giving dodgy signals and alarms, usually at inconvenient times. To be fair to Datatool they did this free of charge.
If I was spending my own money I'd fit a Bike Trac unit as they are more reliable and use more than just GPS for location and reporting so can be still tracked from difficult places such as inside a sea container.

People swear by monimoto.

I had similar problems on my 1250GS with the free factory fitted Datatool Stealth. I didn't renew the subscription, disconnected it so it would no longer drain my battery and it made no difference to my premium.
Bought an approved used last month and it came with the Datatool Stealth S5 fitted and the BMW alarm
Didn't make a lot of difference to my insurance
BMW stuff isn't Thatcham approved cos BMW don't submit them for testing. The Datatool is approved
I wouldn't have opted for one but am now subscribed

Datatool just emailed me last night saying they lost contact with the bike on 23rd May. I know where it is and am not surprised they lost contact and I am delighted that sort of works (but the Monimoto checks in daily)

Had the monimoto for about 5 years and their customer support, when needed, has been brilliant. My riding mates all got it as well and never had any issues. One even recovered his stolen bike.

I would fit at least one AirTag somewhere difficult to access and then fit a Tracker or Biketrac. That way when your bike gets nicked and the scroats rip your Tracker etc out within the first two minutes you’ll still have a remote chance, albeit briefly of tracking and locating your bike.
Thieves know EXACTLY where Trackers etc will be installed on any given model of bike or car and know EXACTLY how to access them quickly before ripping them out and throwing them out the window rendering them totally useless. They are in my opinion a total waste of money.

My mate recovered his with his Monimoto so clearly they work and it wasn't a waste of money.
with a Monimoto , it's finding a good place to hide it .
mine moves from bike to bike , if i go away .
it is sensitive enough that if you pull it off the side stand , it goes off.
not had any false alarms.
and if the bike is nicked , it can be tracked on my phone.

A Monimoto fits ok under the rider seat on a GS1300, would the scroates find it, maybe, maybe not, it blends in well there and they would have to have ripped the seat off and spotted it, oh and negotiated my garage intruder alarm, ground anchor on the front, and chain round the back wheel.
Ive had Biketrac before and it was really good.

If for insurance get a quote without - when I got my M1000R ironically insurance was more with BMW tracker fitted - go figure! (£300 supply and fit, £99 yearly subscription, battery drain and higher insurance!!). Needless to say I didn't get one fitted (against dealer advice) and enjoyed a lower premium!
