Have just bought a Macbook for the first time and I want to transfer routes etc from my old laptop to the new machine - what is the best way to do this?

Transfer routes to device from old PC then import routes from device to BaseCamp on your Mac.

Buy memory stick.

Copy routes on PC onto memory stick.

Stick memory stick into Mac.

Import routes from memory stick to Mac.

I have updated the maps on the Mac & Zumo 660 to 2015.20 (on the SD Card), with 2014.10 remaining on the Zumo internal memory.
When i plot a simple circular route on the Mac and transfer it to the Zumo, the route is being produced with lots of spikes in it.
I have no idea why, and I have never had the problem before. I have sent the route to the Zumo internal memory, not the SD card, by the way.

Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong please?

Delete the maps from your SD card & then reinstall 2015.20 maps to device with SD card fitted. Don't think you should be using 2 map versions at the same time.

I did delete the 2014 maps from the SD card on the Zumo and then did the 2015.20 update to the SD card, but I didn't delete the 2014 maps from the Zumo's internal memory - can you/ should you do this?

It's usual to update your Zumo with SD card in device. The new version should overwrite the old version so no need to manually delete anything. This is how mine works using Garmin Express.

Although I didn't delete the mapping from the internal memory, when i go into tools/settings/maps on the Zumo, it is only showing the 2015.20 mapping - don't know why as the new maps were saved to the SD card. I had assumed the 2014 maps would still be in the internal memory?
Also, when you upload routes to the Zumo, should these be uploaded to the SD card or to there internal memory?

Thanks for your help.

You can load up to 20 routes on a 660 (not sure what model you've got) extra routes go on the SD card, but you can put all your routes on the SD card.

Stroller, have you solved your problem yet ? I was suffering the same symptoms on a 660 with Basecamp on PC.
The thread ' Updated maps and existing routes ' provided the solution.
At post #8 Bumpkin provides a link to a video clip that solved my problems.
No more spikes on routes transferred from Basecamp to the internal memory of my zumo.
