Trelleborg Tyres

yes i've used/use them, not the greatest in all conditions but not too bad and last pretty well. the tyre compound is hard hence the good wear rates but it does mean they slip easily on wet rock unless you use low pressures circa 15psi. i dont like the front tyre at all and the rear tyre is not the easiest to fit if you use heavy duty tubes and also the nobbles dont quite come far enough round the tyre for me. i've yet to find the perfect tyre for me so i wont buy them again.

Your right about the best tyre Frosty! TKC just don't have enough knobbly for me. Might just stick with me Mitas CO2! Cheers

I used to run Trellys on my TTR when I first started riding. The grip was a bit so-so and they lasted for ever, but changing them took a fair bit of elbow grease!

Pinkytiff ran a co2 on the back of his bike for our run down to the pyrenees last year.

It "lasted", but looked really squared off by the time we had got home.

I'd fitted a michelin deserts. Expensive, but i couldn't fault them.

some advice i was given:

"the Army Special tyres are designed really for hard packed surfaces and for long life on smaller machines, the X Challenge being ok. The CO2 is also designed for hard packed surfaces, it used to be called the stone king before a CO2, it would be better than the Army Special but marginal on greasy rock surfaces, there again nothing works particularly well on greasy rock. The E-O9 is also a compromise tyre and more suited to harder srfaces and longish life. The very best tyre for wet, muddy, slippery conditions is the XT 754 size 120/90-18 but it will not last on the road, another option is the FIM Enduro tyres, the EF-07 in a size 130/90-18, these work well in all conditions, they use them in World Enduro Championships so down to you if you are not getting grip. The CO2 is a full on Motocross tyre, for commuting it will not last very long, I would go with the E-09"
