Not much of a ride report today

Spent a few hours up on Kex Ghyll, above Fewston Reservoir and near Blubberhouses marshalling observing, a Yorks Centre M/C Trial

It's a moor I've passed many times over the years and it has some very dramatic landscape and rock formations, but never been over it

Normally you're not allowed as there is no public ROW, but today we had a free rein

Bridleway down onto the Moor

Having a play, before the Pro's came to tackle them...................that's a fair sized bit of stone:eek

You had to jump from the flat rock in the background to this smaller angled rock, in the foreground in the 1st pic, landing on the back wheel and it was about 4' up in the air and a gap of about 4' across:eek:

Last one, the view from the back of 'my' particular rock...............splendid

Nice way to spend a few hours, far from the madding crowds watching some the country's best young trials riders

Trials riders even at clubman level ,How do they do it. Can remember pro riders in the Lake District riding up rocks taller than me ,Fantastic. I only got to the Kickstart falling off lots level.:D

Nowadays, Andrew... they just leap from rock to rock, without going down and up over - some of these kids have no fear and awesome skill levels

Looks like a great day JB. :thumb
Tim and I (and 80 odd others) spent the day in an old quarry, riding the old style sections. I have the dubious honour of finishing next to last in class........

I think I would preferred your trial, those rocks were HUGE

Lovely! A great idea to marshall - best of both worlds - you get to see the event, enjoy the landscape & ride the trails!

I did a day of marshalling at the local quarry for a friend who ran a group in Lincoln. I didn't get paid but had a fantastic day out & was amazed at the abilities of all of the riders, from the youngest up to the eldest.
