I have a 15 spec Gs TE. And much as I like it, I have a longing to try (and possibly own) an 1150 GS.
I'd probably keep the WC bike as well.
I have I totally lost the plot, Is it just me?

I don't want to get into a " MY bike's better than yours" type thing. But there is "something" about the 1150s I like. even though I've never ridden one. if anyone's tried them both I wondered about comparisons .....

One's wheezy, underpowered, vibratory, slow-handling and was ok in its day. The other is quick, revvy as well as torquey, has light handling, great ride quality, roadholding and brakes, better aerodynamics and headlight, better fuel economy and doesn't go with your steampunk gear. :)

I've tried them both and I'm banned from the gay bar for not agreeing that the WC s the greatest thing since sliced bread.

The 1150 is a lumbering bus compared the the WC, but it has character, is better built, and is far more relaxing and rewarding to ride.

Correct but sometimes your second bike is acquired because you want a lovely bike and there are many things that can make a lovely bike and it can be one that has very little of the above.

My Airhead is a lovely bike, an 1150 in comparison to the Airhead ticks all the above points...

Bottom line is an 1150 judge against its how you feel when you're having a ride is a lovely bike - that's a good reason to scratch that itch and buy one.

Top Tip ignore having a test ride all that will do is tell you it's not like your WC

Just got a 1200gs and still prefer my 1150gs, I ride about 5 hours a day all year the 1150 got over 160k on it and still seems to have more bottom end grunt and is just great fun to ride. I guess its just what you get used to.

Here's my second bike

Took it for a spin last night and it is fast, light, handles and looks stunning. It does the speed bit better than a WC and the sporty bit better than a WC, but I have the 1150GSA for when I just want to see the world, take in a few lanes or get off the beaten track and enjoy the scenery.

Horses for courses really, the 1150 is an enjoyable bike as is the trumpet, but they are poles apart.
