Any ideas .... apart from me losing weight.

She feels awful heavy these days (but I am wel into my 50s so probably weak and hopeless).

Thanks, David. I'll have a look at one. Still think I might hang onto the 1150 until I can afford to do some serious engineering on it ....

besides the cat ,there isnt much,as above, buy 800 or 1200,if you ride 2 up, kill the wife?, eat a lot of currys , this may lose vital pounds/kilo,s from your body

Fit a set of 17” cast wheels. Saves weight and lowers the height of the bike making it easier to flat foot and paddle the bike around. They also improve the looks of the bike (IMHO), make the bike turn sharper and allow better tyre choice. You can’t lose – unless you’re really into offroad.

Oh, and I know of a pair for sale:)

lets face it,,, trim what you want, it will still be a big fat lardy bike......

...or you could jusy get one of these................

It's HPN R1100RR built for Oscar Gallardo. Only one or two of these R1100RRs were ever made for racing purpose. Less than 190kg, more than 90HP. Over 300mm of suspension travel (this bike is tall)

They probably can ramake one for you, but look for around £20K for HPN handwork and bits when bringing them 1100 (lighter than 1150) motor that they build bike around it (pure handwork). The rest of your GS will be thrown into the bin to save every gram of weight.

Factory BMW-HPN R900RR Dakar racers (only 6 of them were ever made) costed around £30+K-ish. 900cc special bores, 90hp, 190kg while having 56 litres worth of fuel tanks on board!

Serious £££ racing bred handwork stuff, but worth every penny of quality if you can ride crap out of them like these professional racers:
