So I have just got back from a quick trip to S.Uist, ostensibly fishing, via Skye and Lochmaddy. Outward trip not too bad, went via Glenelg and the wee ferry. Fishing shite....far too windy and then too cold...and then horrid journey home today,,,got off ferry at Uig(late) at 6.15 and set for home....very gusty thru' Skye, fresh snow all through Kintail and the Loyne, wet thru'Spean Bridge, OK across Laggan and Glen Truim, utterly fucking dreadful thru' Dalwhinnie...raced a blizzard down the A9...deer by the road...darker and gales across Moulin....very thankful to be home safe and sound at 10pm. If this is motorcycling in Scotland in nearly June..... you can stick it up your erse!!

Sampled the Tesco Islay Malt....well worth 20 quid a bottle...

Thats it really!! Just in case people thought I didn't bike any more. Now to gird my loins for a trip to Ullapool next week....must be warmer soon???

Know the feeling :D

We did Skye in Sept and made Ireland feel warm when we came back!

Taking the ferry to Shetland on Monday.........There's a huge sea rolling into the cliffs here on the farm so if it doesn't improve over the weekend it'll be a rough hurl!

Last of the cattle went out here on Wednesday...........First day off feeding them since October 25th........Whoo Hoooo!:thumb

One concillation, the midges won't like the snow!:D

Don't say that, there's a few of us going to Apecross this weekend!

It'll be fine......I like Applecross.........At the top of the Bealach-Na-Ba(Pass Of The Cattle) there's a wee gravel road takes you right up to the radio mast and last time I was there I made it right up to the top and it was rough as hell!:thumb

Good fish and chips at the pub aswell but i'm really looking forward to my 'deep fried Mars Bar' from Sandie's fish and chip shop in Stonehaven!:thumb

You should have thawed out by next Friday :D

Planning a ten-day trip Orkey, Lewis and Harris trip starting in 10 days time, so this is not encouraging.

If the forecast is dire I don't think I'll bother, I've had enough of Scotland in bad weather.

very wise, i live here but never book ahead, always wait till the last minute to be sure of the best weather,
good luck:beerjug:

And a different day altogether today, warmer, sunny periods.....what a place....snow gates on the A93 shut 7-9 am yesterday, working outside in a polo shirt today!!

Dry roads, lots of bikes about.

I had to ditch Applecross last weekend as it was blowing hooley and pissing from the heavens ( got blown off at the top of the pass last year ) never experienced wind like it !!

anyway , well done for making it home safe Gerry , I'm sure a couple of wee goldies will sort you out :thumb :beerjug::beerjug:
