Triumph Tiger Sport 800

Looks like a lovely all-rounder and that engine must be a peach. The dash looks like a cheap Chinese scooter, not that I can't live with it on my Street Triple R if only it had an air temperature sensor. I have had one for 25 years on all my bikes until this one

Looks like they have added it to the Tiger Sport 800 according to YouTube:

Agreed.

The bike looks pretty good apart from the dreadful dash.

I’ve got a Tiger Sport 660.
New in January, with £500 knocked of the price so less than 8,500 on the road including a years ved.
Really nice bike to ride - goes well, handles well, easy to spec up with extras, and relatively light to manoeuvre.
Build quality is not as good as my previous Speed Twin, but the whole package is very good and can still put a smile on my face - especially after the quick shifter was fitted.
The 800 will probably be very good as well!

Nice to see they have finally learnt that describing the bike as a sport tourer means cruise control as standard is mandatory for the demographic that buys bikes.
Certainly a contender as a lot cheaper than the F900XR and has the triple engine.

I’ve always thought the 660 would be a good touring bike but more for solo than 2 up because of its physical size, I’m only surmising however as I’ve not ridden one

I think the 800 with the improvements they’ve made will be even more so, and it’s priced well

113 hp is plenty of power, you’ll rarely use it all, and the triple motor is all about mid range, which is what you want 99% of the time

Just noticed in the little blue box in the screenshot that it has 10,000 mile service intervals like the 1200 triples. Not sure I would reach that nowadays, before the 12 month time limit kicks in!

The bikes biggest advantage over the 660 is the capacity to fit a centre stand. It makes a big difference to doing things like chain maintenance or repairing a puncture at the side of the road. Not sure about 10,000 mile service intervals on a bike though. I think I'd be doing intermediate oil changes. Nice bike though.

Just had a look on the French configurator

It’s not such a bargain after all once you spec it up, a lot of stuff that I’d expect to be standard is actually optional,
Heated grips, TPMS, center stand, even hand guards !

With luggage and the stuff listed there I was at nearly 15,000 euros before on the road costs, and Triumph are not known for discounts

It looks really good and will be a contender if and when my back heals. I really like it in yellow too. I wouldn't bother speccing it up with over-priced Triumph badged kit though. Comes in at £12k with what I consider essentials - heated grips, centre stand, hand guards, comfort seat (should all be standard), and a few options such as colour coded belly pan, fog lights and tyre pressure monitoring. I look forward to seeing and trying it.

I got to £12611 adding luggage, main stand, heated grips, handguards, power socket

although, I imagine Givi will have a Monokey kit soon, maybe already if the 660 ones fit, so I could use my existing kit

I put over a grand on my 660 with heated grips, fog lights, quick shifter, belly pan, rack, power socket, hand guards and a few non triumph bits ( fender extenders, rad guard, bobbins and fork protectors etc ).
The lack of a centre stand option and cruise control are the biggest gripes, but I still enjoy riding it!

I was offered a tiger 660 as a curtesy bike whilst my 900 Rally Pro was in for a service. It was far too tall for me though. It a big bike with a smaller engine. I declined the Tiger and took a 900 Scrambler. Great fun but I wouldn’t want to ride 500 mile plus days on it.

I agree about the Scrambler.
Good bike to have a bit of fun on and hoon around the country lanes on. The same is true with most of the Bonneville range. None of them are designed for all day or long distance touring at any speed, I feel.
I’m not the tallest person but find the 660 height fine for me (31 inch inside leg). The bike can be lowered quite a bit if necessary but the stock height is very comfortable for touring on.

Had a sit on one at the NEC today and it looks like a lovely little bike. My wife also fitted in the back, although she’s only small at 5’3”. It looks like a great rival to the Tracer 9GT.

I know someone who had the Tiger 660 thinking it would fit the bill as he's now over 70 and a short arse, but he's traded it in now for a Tiger 900 as he found it hard work keeping up with others while touring. He loves the 900, but he's a Trumpet fanboy 🤣
