32" and 5'5"?? I'm 5'9" with 31" inside leg and I'm told I have long legs for my height...

In all seriousness, I think you're weight would be the key deciding factor - the GSA is that bit more weight to catch at the lights or simply when moving it in the garage or when parking, or even simply getting it off the stand. At your size, I would inclined to with the regular 12GS - a great bike, still way more capable off-road than most of us as riders and a sweet ride on the road.

At the end of the day - get to a dealer, sit on both, if you're still unsure, take them both for a ride.

That was suppose to say 5ft 7in not (5ft 5in). I think I ought to get my self to a bmw dealer like you said. cheers mate

You shouldn't have any problems with the GSA - especially if you get your hands on a standard GS seat which is just a little lower and a bit more comfortable. With the standard seat on my GSA I can get the balls of both feet on the ground and I'm 5' 8" with a 32" inside leg. ( and 90 kilos compressing the suspension....)

90 kilos is a tad more than 9 stone :augie

More like 15 stone:augie--fat git.:P
Still a lightweight compared to some of the lardy GS owners on here.

The std 1200 GS with a low seat should be the way to go;less weight to heave around.
Shirley (iluvmygs) is about 5'5" and manages OK.
