Have a 2002 Single Spark. Regularly serviced and running 20/50 mineral. Doesn't appear to use anything like the BMW accepted "acceptable" oil amount.
Has Y piece and standard can. Also has a Gemi chip (9 I think)
As a rule I rarely go over 4000 rpm, as it pulls strong below that and it always sounds and feels a little "pushed" over that.
A friend was following me the other day and commented that there was an amount of dark greyish smoke when I gunned it to up near the red line (I was being chased by him on his FJR at the time)
He says it definitely wasn't Blue.
Otherwise it seems to run clean and as smooth as it ever has. Bike has 115,000 miles on now.
My first instinct was probably fuelling, but wanted some advice from the assembled experts.
Many Thanks
Spud
