I've heard that BMW recalled a mass number of K1200 all over europe, due to engine problems.
That makes me feel worried a bit cause BMW seems to produce models without caution and it also makes me calm cause 1200gs is not the only BMW model that has problems :p

Happens all the time with other manufacturers too. You have to be careful buying a new model bike in its first year of development.

FWIW, there's recently been a recall for Honda VFRs foing back for two or three year old models!

Best there is!

No worries mate, the BMW is great. If you encounter an y probs they fix it. No hazle. A Pure Delight. Go for it. You won't regret. I have a 1200GS -- & I love it.

about their R12GS...
I'm happy I'm not one of them (yet) :p

That's what my warranty's for - 1200GS great bike, love it more everytime I ride it - no probs yet, touching wood.

Only time will tell as you can see by my user name i am no stranger to KTM ,
It seems BMW riders use them everywhere every day if they can as most s/hand ones have car miles on them ,not seen this on a ktm yet
I like KTM but i want to do big miles & need a shaft drive hence 12GS
