Just got home in the early hours this morning, after an amazing 9days... Marshalled at the bottom of Barregarrow for the first races & took a quick piccie during my break.
At the Marshals' Supper, someone used the open mic Q&A session to tell Dean Harrison and Peter Hickman how brave he thought they were going down Bray Hill flat out on cold tyres, etc. Dean was priceless when he said said it was really quite easy and there were much scarier places. I couldn't resist and just shouted out "Like where...?" Both riders looked at each other & said the bottom of Barregarrow so I asked why. Peter replied by saying; " it probably has a lotto do with going down the hill, fiat out in 5th with a long time to look at the wall you're aiming for, then compressing over the crown in the road so you bottom out the suspension and heading out through a very bumpy exit..." Brilliantly put.
