Hi all, I've recently had some bits off Twalcom direct after firstly contacting Adventure bike warehouse that used to be the UK supplier for them. I heard off them that Twalcom had let people down with their estimated arrival dates and had been difficult to contact. they had subsequently cut all ties with Twalcom and therefor the UK no longer had a Twalcom distributer. After finding out that Twalcom were based in Italy I understood perfectly the problem as I have a Ducati and trying to deal with the Italians either directly or through the dealer network can drive you insane with broken promises..............................
I still liked the look of a few pieces for my TC and had seen reviews saying their stuff was of excellent quality. ABV had told me to go through Twalcoms website directly ............................ so I did.
The website gives you the option to translate the language (unless you speak fluent Italian) and the website is very well laid out. I clicked on the parts I needed and went to the checkout. There are taxes to pay on your purchases but with VAT at 19% and the weak euro exchange rate it meant that the bits worked out cheaper than Touratech on the whole.
I finished the checkout and thought I was going to wait for weeks before writing a string of e mails to get my money back and threatening legal action ................................................... HOW WRONG I WAS!!!
I received an e mail immediately showing my order and it said I would be contacted as soon as the items were despatched, The next day I received a personal e mail thanking me for my order, telling me both my items were in stock and they would be sent out later that day ................ about 4pm sure enough another e mail came thanking me once again and told me my items were on the way and gave me a tracking number. Usually at this point you would enter the tracking number and it wouldn't recognise it BUT it did and every step of the way I could keep up to date with its progress. 4 days later there was a knock at the door and the postman handed me a pristine Twalcom box, It was a very strong box beautifully taped and banded without a bit of damage on it.
I took it in the house and unwrapped it, Inside there was plenty of scrunched up brown paper and my two items were beautifully packaged in layers and layers of heat sealed bubble wrap. The two items were both aluminium protection pieces but were on stiff card before being lovingly wrapped in bubble wrap. The instruction were in Italian but were straightforward to fit with the pictures and the fit and finish is fantastic.
I have ordered another item and the same service was given again. I sent them an email saying how wonderful their service was and how nice their products are and within the hour I received one back thanking me for my kind words.
I am utterly AMAZED that after years of dealing with the usually frustrating Italians there is a company out there that gives such wonderful service and provides great quality.
For all those out there that might be put off by dealing with them directly DONT BE!!!!!!! there are many on here who don't like Touratech with their high prices and arrogant attitude, well, now you have another option.
I have no link to Twalcom in any way but I thought that such service deserves a mention in the age we all live in where dealers/suppliers don't give a shit when we spend our hard earned money.
Twalcom keep doing what your doing, I cannot fault you, your service is impeccable.
