Twat suit or no twat suit...that is the question!!?!

Santa bought me a tw@t jacket for chrimbo and i love it

with phase change thermals under it its fine

looks cool too imho - coz its the black one

paired up with pair of black axo cordura troos

A very disturbing picture... but my Kushtani enduro suite is brilliantly warm, goretex-tastic just done close to 1000 miles with it and it's very good for warmth, due to it's double wind trap zip arrangement which layer infront of the chest and stop that draft you get, the jacket and trousers almost totally zip into a one piece. The pockets are bit odd and need abit of organising but I'm well pleased.

with it.

Bought both my twat jacket and pants second hand on this site, £130 for the jacket and £80 for the pants, and after 30 years of riding bikes all year round I find it to be a great suit, well vented in summer without gortex liners, and in the winter I only ever wear a long sleeved thermal top under the jacket.
If Charley & Ewan had worn a different suite then that would now be known as the twat suit...
Individual choice, as is the bike we ride, each to their own.

So, a quick update....

2 Jan

Went to BMW North Oxford and was entertained for about half an hour trying on various widths/lengths of T' suit. Obviously a well made suit built with flexibility in mind, but a couple of oddities - the distance from top of the fly around your :censor: and back up to the small of your back/waistline (otherwise known as the crotch measurement :augie) was relatively "tight". Other people that have had this suit have commented on it but I was surprised it was so....:eek

The trousers in long only come in every other size - that means that of course I ideally need the one in between the two sizes - ho hum! Otherwise exceedingly well made, with more flexibility in terms of warm weather operation that you can poke a stick at. Body armour very good too.

Went to Harpers in the East End of London (if you call the Romford Road the East End?) and tried on the Revit suit. Other than I was informed that the trousers only come in black or green grey (online they also do the grey/black) it was a good suit. However, no back armour and the armour that was present was VERY hard against elbows etc. The overall design was excellent but the zips felt cheaper and the overall item did not feel quite as good as the T suit. But then again, it's £200 cheaper! :pullface

Now there's a good suit....but I still wasn't convinced enough to hand over so my wad:blagblah

Me.....picky?

Too bloody right at that sort of money!!!!:D

.

Charley and Ewan had nothing to do with concepion of the Twat Suit, they look twats just like everyone else:thumb

Most of my riding is in Morocco ....and (Unlike my Welsh friend Mr Timolgra :augie) I've not got a twat suit :D

I wear HG Airtex stuff.......very comfy and works superbly.....after a couple of years of abuse, the trousers have just split so yesterday we reserved THREE PAIRS of xxl trews from HG at the rather nice price of £29.99 each :thumb2

That'll keep me going for a good few years :thumb:thumb:thumb

I have been more than impressed with the warmth and total waterproof qualities of my IXON jacket - Ranger model. It is just a plain jacket with a couple of outsid epockets to put nothing in. High collar with fleece, a stud fastened inner neck warmer and a removable winter quilted lining. Gortex for waterproofing in the outer shell. Works a treat ( and now is into its 5th winter)

For trousers, I use Reischa with a leather knee pad and a leather bum pad. Again come with quilted winter liner that you can remove for summer (there is actually hard knee armour - but that came out straight away, it makes your knees stick out in the breeze). Again, totally waterproof and have been going strong for 3 winters.

Costs? The jacket is about £17. The trousers (from that big place in Stoke???) £60.

Plain black, totally waterproof, hard wearing and toasty warm. At a price for th elot that is less than any of the jackets you have all been on about.Jobs a goodun. £700 for rUKKA JACKET:eek:  That would cover my riding bills for about 4 lifetimes.

Saw this thread and with winter coming up .........

Has no-one used an oversized RAF immersion suit with the feet cut off to allow the legs to go over the boots ? Very cheap and VERY waterproof. No insulation to speak of and no abrasion but that's what layering is all about, n'est pas ?

Probably even better for off-roading as you can get hosed down much more easily.

Sincerely yours, tight-arse that I am !

Ive just bought the Akito Desert suit but too early to tell yet what its like, so far its OK but only worn a couple of times and not in the rain yet!
Mates buying the HG TRG sheltex suit so we will see how that goes also.

Buy the twat \power ranger suit,it great, its pricey sure, but like the GS its copied all the time, look at all the other suits and see the resemblance,
makes you think,doesnt it?.:D

Twat suits

I guess at the end of the day we are all different, we all have our own personal preferences.

Ive had many makes of suites over the years, all different styles and prices. I recently purchased a twat suit, R3 and the overriding factor for me was the fitment and comfort.

It's not cheap but personally feel its worth every penny, I have never had a suit that is so comfortable to wear.

I dont care what people think of the corporate cloning thing, I fell in love with my GSA why not be proud of other BMW products.

Well said.... I've been riding in an R2 suit for 3+ years, in all seasons and weathers, in the UK, France, Spain, mountains, plains etc, and it has always kept me warm, dry, cool and protected. I have the red and grey one, so quite conspicuous, which most bikers strive for:D:confused:

On the matter of "wetting out", just treat your outers a couple of times a year with a good waterproofing agent. Water will then bead off and the inner Goretex can do it's job.

thats why rukka is the best in my mind :thumb

The R2 suit does what is says on the can, however I'm selling mine (size 52/52 by the way -PM me!) to upgrade to the R3. Better colour!

If you use the Search you will find numerous threads debating the same question.

Having seen them (Twats) in action,I've got a Rev'it Cayenne Pro suit.

Cost £ hundreds less than Twat suit, better designed and usable for more than just summer months as it includes both removable thermal and waterproof liner, unlike the Twat which only has the latter.

Plus it doesn't come in ridiculous designs/colours.

But somebody will be along within minutes to tell you the Twat suit is the best ever.

+1 Warm, removable lining and membrane. Just used mine round the north of Scotland including a couple of hundred miles of pouring rain (I stayed dry) and plenty of riding at around zero degrees C. Excellent piece of kit. I don't have the trousers as I prefer leathers and use waterproof trousers when raining.
