Not bad for 30K. BTW the replacement shoes should hold up for a lot longer than the originals.

Yes apart from having the cams pressed out and back in by my local Indy man to change the inner tensioner, he charged me £20 for the job

Had mine replaced on my 2002 FLHT in America at 46k miles and the primary (front) one had just worn through to metal 😨 - if you have a twin cam with more than 30k miles get them checked NOW!

£20!! - it cost me nearly $900 at Atlantic County HD!!

Are they the old design ?

Later models are hydraulic and last longer I think ? Also the pads are made of different stuff.

My 2010 Fatbob SE only has 2.5 k miles on so I've got a bit to go yet. :D

tensioner pads

Phil Hodges who runs Fatboyz diner in Trowbridge Wiltshire. (local indy) sells tensioners with pads made of different material. a white nylon type, similar to the material used on the primary chain tensioner. and cheaper than HD prices.

True....but the cam outer bearing in the support plate has changed (cheapened) from roller to running plain in the housing.....a much more expensive weak point.......just saying.......
