Probably in the office. Again.
Following this morning's debacle with disk locks (actually a Kryptonite U lock), I've had a good looky round and all appears (NB - "appears") to be well. Caliper looks OK. Disks look OK.

Now...

1. how easily should the front wheel go round? At the moment it takes a good hand-shove to get it moving and it stops straight away. It's the RH brake caliper dragging.

2. what the hell can I do about it?

Pic of grubby offending object (the caliper not me) below:

And anyone know what the function of the two outer bolts is? The ones at the outer edges of the caliper rather than the two in the middle? Klutz question I know...

I'd get the brake calipers out of the way and then try spinning the wheel. Then measure the run out on each disk in turn, and I'll bet the disk locked one is wobbly.

Haven't a clue on what's considered to be the ok limit though :o

better experts than me will attend shortly:rob
Here's my two pee's worth though:)
For safety reasons, you need to get it checked by someone who knows what they are doing. The front wheel should run freely with no rubbing on anything.
Two bolts are to lock the caliper to the fork. The other two seperate the two halves of the caliper I believe.
Best of luck:beerjug:

Popped a bloody fuse, more like!

It's a major PITA as I used the bike for everything, and since I sold the airhead I'm relying on this one. Shouldn't have been so stupid as to leave the lock on, should I?

The last time i did this was on my Commando's expensive aftermarket disc. It looked OK on a visual but when I rode it home there was a click click click noise. Had a further look and buggered if I could see anything so rode it the few miles home very slowly then had a real good look and the disc had cracked but must have fallen back into alignment along the crack so it wasn't easy to see.
Take it all off and have a real close look at the disc and the caliper.
