New product

Had it in the car job for ages.

Think business manager said about £180 ... 0% for 12 months

Think he said 3 year policy ... And 3 new tyres... Must be over 1mm left on tread

Will confirm on Sat when in for first service ... Sounded like good deal

That's nearly the price of a set of tyres ! just don't fit PR4s and you'll be fine

so does it cover replacing a worn tyre or just a punctured one? I've done 3 rears and a front in a year so that would be a good deal if its for worn tyres too.

Never had any problem

With Pr4 s.... Did 15,000 on them ... 4 pairs .. So not great for wear.... But fantastic grip.... Mixed riding ... Track days, light green laning and European touring ... Never had a puncture ... I must be lucky :thumb2

Then the insurance doesn't sound such a good deal for you then does it? :nenau

Is this for punctures? I dont get it...

I mean once in a blue moon you get a puncture, you foam up the tyre to take you to the shop, you buy another tyre, job done. No recovery vans no insurance, no paperwork, no faff. I mean seriously would anyone be willing to deal with insurance claims for the value of a set of tyres? Allergy just on the thought of hearing the phone music while you wait on the insurance claim line.

Plus its always fun to keep buying other tyre models...

I was offered the tyre insurance but it's only for damaged beyond safe to use and non repairable punctures. Worn out tyres aren't covered.
I didn't take it out myself as I've only ever had one puncture......... Yup I know I'll probably get a run of them now. :blast

I was offered this when buying the new R1200RS - turned it down.

I suggest you spend a fiver on a tin of Wynns tyrefix or similar and for every new tyre fitted, put a tenner into a savings account to cover early replacement or repair. I bet that after 5 years most people will have more in the savings account than they have spent on early replacement.

Your missing the point

Just before you get to 1mm.... You happen to ride over a screw / piece of glass/ or someone cuts your tyre .... Etc etc

Insurance pays for up 2 ... 3 tyres .... And they surely must cost more than £180 !!??

Yes I'm taking it out ...
