My Front TPS unit is having a hissy fit

First it gave me a low pressure error Red triangle , which cleared on a stop and restart

I checked the pressure and it was on the lower limit 2.2 bar, so i topped it up to 2.4 bar

Coming back from my rents last week i dropped the from wheel into a small pothole and i got a yellow triangle and the reading was 2.5 bar ( so upper limit)

Left it for 24hrs and all was fine

Coming home yesterday, same again 2.5 bar and a yellow triangle ( so a near upper limit warning )

Dropped a bit of air out , all good

The feck me this morning its now deciding 2.2 bar is now too low , it went off as the tyres warmed up , 2.3 bar but returned a fault once i stopped the bike

Can you give them a good talking too with a GS911, or is it a warning that the unit might be on its last legs ?

  1. No hissy fits
  2. No yellow triangle
  3. No red triangle
  4. No techno-babble
  5. No batteries
  6. Accurate
  7. No GS911 needed
  8. It's never let me down tyre guage.jpg (y)
Just saying (maybe put one on your Xmas list? :duck:)

@Santa-2512 I would take it as a sign that the battery is low
Interesting, i rode home from work with 2.3 bar showing in the kombi and the red flashing triangle, the pressure went up to 2.4 bar, and still the triangle..

On arriving home i checked the pressure with my uncalibrated pump, it was about 2 bar. Tyre hot.. I took the pressure up to2. 5 bar and hooked up the gs911

All tests and checks came back good, inc battery health

It said 2.2 bar on the front and 3.0 on the rear

I changed it to psi and it said 19 on the front, snd 27 on the rear. Bit low
Ive changed it back to bar, 2.2 / 3.0

Ill let the tyres cool and recheck

which sensors

the tyre temp offset that lies about what the pressure reading really is maybe different between various sensor types...
I found the later 7 digit BT code ones where less volatile (aka lie more)
of course cold vs warm tyres will still get you 0.2 bar increase on your ride home - from say 12 C to warn 45 C tyre temps even with the offset fake the numbers feature they all have

I leave on bar as the gaps from 0.1 bar to 0.2 bar is far bigger than a single PSI (so bar appears to give more pressure stability - as its not really showing the reading) - which is fine 3psi here or there for most drivers / riders can't be felt - but the reading fluctuating, especially on a car where all 4 tyres often read 1 psi different to each other is really offensive

Indeed, but how does that fix the yelow and red warnings when i clearly have no loss of pressure?
