Sorry if this has been stated before, but I have searched through the forum and the net and found no specific answer....:blast

In the LC user manual it is stated that for all loads the pressure should be 2.5-2.9bar (i.e. 36-42psi).

In the pre-2013 models the manual stated two different pressures for solo and loaded/2up riding of 2.2.-2.5bar (i.e. 32-36psi) and 2.5-2.9bar (i.e. 36-42psi) respectively.

Now, I understand that it is a worldwide tyre manufacturer deal that comon tyre pressures should be applied so as not to confuse people......bla bla bla
But in the real world, what are you guys running for 1up vs 2up/loaded??? In case of "spirited" riding or poor road conditions do you make adjustments???

looking forward for your input!!!:beerjug::beerjug::beerjug:

Who wants to sod around changing tyre pressures to suit differing conditions? Not me, for sure. 36/42 works just fine, imho. Spirited riding - select hard on the damping. You dont even have to stop and deploy the pressure gauge and pump.

In Greece's mirror glass tarmac finish, if I really cared ( I dont) I would err on the low side of the range.

On the 1150gs I keep in Eastern Peloponese where the bike gets used for 10 days every year to potter about the roads are so bad, that I think pressures are irrelevant. Basically eyeballing the tyre with a bit of foot prodding to check there at least a tangible 15psi works fine. It also helps with the 1 sq meter 40 cm deep potholes that you d lose a scooter in.

36/42 for me. Wouldn't want to upset the insurance company should the worst happen.

As the manual says 36/42 - the loading no longer seems to be as big a concern as it was in the past, simplifies things.

A couple of years ago when I bought my GS I thought I knew better than the handbook and set the tyre pressures at 36/36 (36/42 loaded) psi as all my previous bikes had been. After a couple of big rear slides exiting corners I went to 36/42 and never a problem since on 3 different brands of tyre.

36/42 On road - Road Tyres
24/25 Off road - Road Tyres

34/40 On Road - Off Road tyres (TKC80, Wild)
26/28 Off Road - Off Road tyres (TKC80, Wild)
