Yep. I finally got into logging on the two new sensors I have - bought only for the sealing washers, but also I think I might need them as I just cannot believe my originals will continue - they're 13yrs old. Just seems very lucky compared to all the stories I read.

Anyway, thought I'd finally add the tyre temp to the display. The changes was deemed successful. After doing this and looking at the run down of data on the GS911, it says the tyre temp is 215°??!! It's the decimal place misplaced?!

Anyone had the same thing? On Tuesday I'm out for a long ish run, so I'll find out of its just a foilble of the sensors being 'woken' with the gadget. Or the tyres really are on fire inside

it says 215 C when they are asleep... ride the bike see if they wake up and go normal... tyre pressure should be within 1 degree or so of ambient reading - then warm up as the tyres move about from riding

if u see 60C, either the tyres are flat or you are riding very, very hard

Ahh. Thank you for that. Interesting. I did wonder if it was something like this - seemed odd they were both the same!

Thanks also for the tip on expected temperatures because that's the next thing. I've never known about their temperature before so have no references if what is normal.

Did you turn on the heated grips as well :) ( in the Kombi)

Why in gods name they wern't in the first place lol

I hovered over the check box...but choose not to!

Does it just display that they're on, with an icon, or does it also show which setting the grips are on?

On with an icon and heat setting
Handy if you accidentally prod the switch

Thanks. I might switch it on!

I'd thought it might just show the icon, meaning they're 'on'. But if it gives the setting too, that would be handy as when the fugly muffs are on, the switch needs a long look!

And a few others if i recall, are turned on for me

Morning All,

Firing up a thread from a couple of months back.......

So back at the end of May, I updated my GS-911 to the latest SW at the time (think it was 2405.1), and enabled the heated grips icon and Tyre temp in the display on my 90th edition 2013 GSA (pre LC)..... Moving on a couple of months, mate has bought an identical 90th edition built a few weeks before mine, so I plugged his bike into the GS-911 and could find are no opton to change the clock 24/12hr or Bar/Psi on the display or enable heated grips icon or tyre temp display? Plugged my bike back in and was the same .

I had to load up an old version of GS-911 that I had in my downloads (2104.1) to do the coding of 24/12hr or Bar/Psi, but of course too old for the option of adding heated grips icon or tyre temp.

Tried Laptops running Windows 10 & 11 and a fresh Windows 10 instal on a third laptop, so dont think its laptop / OS related or bike related either.

Anyone seen similar or have a SW download of 2405.1 that I could try or have any other thoughts as to why this coding seems to be no longer available?

Cheers, Roy....

were u looking in the correct module and in the correct place...

Instrument cluster .... and then the online retrofit bits..

they have been making big interface changes and moving stuff around...

2405.1 had this comment

Changes include:
- Contains a small workaround for instrument clusters that answer that they are BUSY when they do not have a valid date and time set

it must have it as when testing I wrote this back

re cluster hidden options

K25 R1200 GS 2007
TPMS tyre temp - YES
heat grip icon in LCD display - NO
Actual speed - NO

K25 R1200 GSA 2011
TPMS tyre temp - YES
heat grip icon in LCD display - YES (shows which heat setting too.... comes up bottom right of the LCD panel)
Actual speed - NO

Thanks for the feedback Botus,

I did some more tests today, firstly I didn't realise that the configuration menu had now moved onto the cloud, which is why I could see it on an old version (v2104.1) that I had in my downloads, but not on some later releases that I had.

Secondly, when I enabled my Heated Grips icon and Tyre Temp display back in late May, I would have been using a SW version one or two back from current, probably v2405.1 according to my autoscan. Unfortunately the functions that are on the cloud insist on the latest SW beng installed which is v2408.1. It is this SW that I can't get to run. I've tried a Windows 11 laptop, a Windows 10 laptop and a fresh O/S build of Windows 10 on another laptop. Each time the result is the same, it wont run an Autoscan or can I see any of the controllers so I can't get down as far as to change any of the settings in Cloud Services which is annoying.

As a workaround, the GS-911 and iPhone with latest app both connected to the same network will talk nicely to each other and I can get to change the Config coding and Display settings.

I've opened a ticket with Hex to find out why I can't get v2408.1 running...

Also, I found the same as you, I can get the heated grips icon up and tyre temps, but enabling 'actual speed' doesn't seem to do anything, and I'm not sure what it was meant to do anyway ?.

Roy.....

I've been arguing on the beta channel they not call it actual speed...

but they think that's what BM are calling it - so wish to keep the inaccurate description
the whole issue arises as they have found these features and started to implement without being model specific

so a K1600 has a digital speed display (which is really already in the hard to find OEM menu structure) so this can be enabled - but I believe a GS doesn't have one to display...

and then the next bit of fun in an E89 BMW Car there are two HIDDEN digital display choices for vehicle speed
a real GPS based display (which if enabled as the only one is offensive, as its always correct and thus always at odds with the analogue display) and of course being GPS based is ACTUAL SPEED

and a Digital version of the analogue reading - so this is NOT ACTUAL SPEED, just a DIGITAL SPEEDO DISPLAY

I’d be a bit careful about concluding GPS speed is actual.

Dependent on the refresh rate, it will “thruppeny bit” every curve, thus giving a lower speed (shorter distance/same time) than the speed measured at the wheel. High refresh rate, very little difference, low refresh, could be significant. Plus the unpredictable variations in GPS position will introduce further errors.

Speedo display will also vary from “reality” dependent on actual tyre rolling radius, calibration, etc.

since ages back they changed the deliberate 10m inaccuracy USA had mandated when GPS was first opened to the public - for most devices its as accurate as we're going to get

I believe nearly all car and bike mags road testing switched to this GPS based info for the performance stats

Just to update on this...... there was a bug in the recently released GS-911 SW v2408.1
v2408.2 was released yesterday and for me all is now working well.

Also, in the"KOMBI cluster settings", there is the option to adjust the "Alarm LED display time" between "Permanent", "3 days". "7 days and "10 days"
Permanent" actually means "Permanently OFF" not "Permanently ON" which I found out after several wasted hours of trouble shooting ove the past few weeks.........:(

Yes, I have had the same Roy.

As you updated software and have the heated grips and tyre temps on display but can’t change to psi.

I’m quite liking bar to be honest but it is odd it’s no longer available.

In settings I have changed to psi incase this was the method but doesn’t seem to have changed anything.

Hi mpgscott,

Make sure you are on the latest SW 2408.2 (not 2408.1 as that had a bug).

Then to change between Bar / PSI, you need to be in KOMBI/Service Functions and then KOMBI Cluster Settings then Configuration UNDER THE CLOUD ICON, so you need to make sure you have wifi connection if doing it via USB cable and laptop. If you're using just the GS-911 and phone app, then both need to be connected to the same wi-fi network. You can also change 12/24hr, miles/km Degrees C/F etc. in that menu.

I think the 'settings' tab you went into, only changes which units are displayed on the pc menu's, it doesn't change anything on the bike.

The heated grips and tyre temps are in a different menu. I think it is under Display Settings UNDER THE LOCAL KOMBI Cluster settings tab further up the same page which doesn't need connectiuon to the cloud.

I'm doing this from memory, but they're all there just under different sub-headings as long as you've got internet acess as you're doing it you should find them (y)

Roy.....
