My current set of hoops are just celebrated there first birthday, so i want to retire them


Been phoning around --

Protyre near me can do a set of Tourances fitted for £251 which is a good price


Just phoned my current fitter - used before & does good work, but he wants £330 for the same tyre fitted

Anyone used protyre? are they any good

Protyre have many fitment centres, I have used the Micheldever site many times even though they are about 70 miles from me. They do a good job and at a good price.

Not sure where you are, but Protyre in Gloucester were one of two places I used before moving north. I would use them here in Mid Wales if there was a nearby branch.

Your choice, but I'd humbly suggest that if they are not squared off/cupped and they still have enough thread they're good to go.
Regarding your question: couple of friends used Protyre and were happy with the result.

Micheldever is not far from Winchester and Winchester is not far from Portsmouth

I used to use ProTyre, for a number of years...but it was the last debacle with them that persuaded me to do my own. But this particular thing is totally down to the individuals doing the job. It's follow the cost on this one.

I've kind of sussed it all out now and I'm even further ahead than when Erminio came over! I have become quite efficient at it.

Ive just hit 6k out of them

The rear is squared, not badly, but squared - the fronts and heading toward 2-3mm looks wise

ive seen people go way lower but ..

I read that as £251.27 - fully fitted inc VAT

Apparantly not ..




They add £60 on for fitting ...

I can remove it in the checkout - but then am i buying just tyres

Indeed,

Metzelers are normally bloody hard wearing, Its the front more so than the rear,

When i had the trailriders, it was the rear as opposed to the front , that took the brunt

ive got a big trip to France next month hence wanting some fresher rubber

Yes, ring them as you will get a better price in my experience with the Gloucester branch. Although, they had Chris Mullins Tyres 500m away so they had to be flexible. I mostly went with Chris as he is a local chap rather than a chain owned by Sumitomo.
