My 2015 GS 1200 is in need of a new rear tyre, the current anakee is squared off, I was thinking of changing to Metzeler Tourance next B, as I used the Tourance on my last bike and found them good however I also had Bridgestone battle wings and found them good too, has anyone tried something other than the Michelin they came with, and where is the best place around Dublin to get them ?

I find Maddocks in Bray hard to beat for Pirelli/Metzeler

You will get nearly all the brands in Cotters but it's a bit hectic.

Maddocks? Wouldn't take the last tyre in the world of him even if it was free. Never would I darken his door again. JJH

You've had a bad experience out there???
They certainly know how to charge in the shop and the service department but they generally are very competitive on tyres (also, I have to admit to having a bit of a crush on Sheena)
I have had a few sets done out there (ride in ride out) and honestly, once you have it prearranged, I can't fault them.

I've recently used Openeo.ie a few times, great if you can get someone to fit tyres that they haven't sold.

I used oponeo for my metzeller tourance nexts , delivered from Germany to a local BMW dealer. They kept them for me a whole week and fitted them on Saturday, on Sunday morning I was in a very soggy and cold France. Brilliant tyre, not once I felt unsure or something sketchy about them. Now 10k in and I still got 3.5mm on the rear at the wear marker and 2.5mm on the front. I think I've got another 2.5-3k in them before it is time to change.

Robbie in MotoTechnic in Kimmage will fit tyres, good bloke.

I had a look at openeo site andI like the look of the Avon, can anyone explain the relivance of the E in the discription of the tyres it's on one tourance but not the other and not mentioned on the Avon? The M/C is motorcycle I thought it may be for enduro but surely it would be in them all if that was the case.

I must look at mine. Tyres should be "E" marked to be road legal on cars....... I'm not sure about motorbikes.

Might be nothing wrong with them they just might have been manufactured for a non European market.

US for example.
