Tyres in Hertfordshire

I've managed to wangle a morning out on my bike this Saturday, but only because I've got to collect something near Letchworth.

I also need a new back tyre, so can anyone suggest a place to get a rear tyre (Tourance/D607 etc probably) between North London and the middle of Hertfordshire?

Obviously they've got to be really, really cheap and the quality of fitting must be fantastic. Coffee and pastries would be nice, too!!

The only place I can think of in Hertfordshire is Tekmotive. I think they are based in Welham Green. Their website is here

Tekmotive, Iffy workshop, but top blokes.
They fitted 2 tyres on my S for me.

Whenever I've called Tekmotive they usually say they need to order in the tyres - fair enough, but not much use at a days notice. I usually go a little further north to Universal Tyres in Dunstable, who always seem to have Tourances in.

I 'phoned Tekmotive yesterday afternoon and they had a pair of tyres waiting for me when I rolled up at 11:30 this morning.


Nice people who seem to know what they're doing!

Agree top blokes , sorted my slicks etc out over the years. Really need to follow their directions to get to the 'workshop'....or you just ride around a residential area for ages.
