Done a search but can only find recommendations for tyre places in south lancs / cheshire. Anything up near me in kendal area ? any advice appreciated since have not changed a bike tyre up here yet

National Tyres in Kendal do bike tyres. Pretty good prices when I have used them too...
I've bought my last 2 sets from Devonshire Road Garage in Ulverston. They dont carry a lot in stock but can get most stuff in a couple of days. Call them on 01229 585763. Good prices and service. Dont know why the're called Devonshire Rd garage when they are on Victoria Road

jacksons motorbikes. on the A65 summerlands industrial estate between kendal and crooklands.
top bloke, family have long history of tt racing. even have there race bikes and tt replicas on show. and his mum has a cracking butty wagon outside his unit. only down side is he will need to order in tyres for you, usually a couple of days. he recently did mine, tourances on 1200gs £190 fitted.
also in same estate is kendal camping, for all your camping, caravan and motorhome needs.
owner any is a good mate, rides a 1150gs and will always give a gser a good deal.

Too late for you now but I can also recommend Devonshire in Ulverston. Both fitters are bikers and take real good care when fitting. I travel there from Lancaster to get my tyres done, by the time I get home, after a detour round Coniston, Ambleside, Kendal, Sedburgh, Kirkby Lonsdale and down the Lune Valley they are nicely scrubbed in
