UAE in the spring

Hugo, I am off to the UAE on Friday for a week's R&R on the 1150GSA, c/w with spare bits and camping gear. May treat myself to a night in the Burj Al-Arab if I stretch my wallet wide enough

Will you be travelling via Syria, Jordan and Saudi? Saudi visas can be got but, it may take time. There is a BMW shop in Riyadh if you need anything. Bring spare tyres as you normally have to order them, take 2-4 weeks and cost a lot. Good if more than one bike of the same marque goes.
Check out www.dubaibikeweek.com albeit it is more of a HOG event, all are welcome and it is around April time.

We have been to Dubai last oktober and we did travel with 2 BMW R1200GS from Holland to Nepal end 2008 crossing East and west Europe, Turkey, Iran etc.

road to Damascus
Hi Hugo,
Danilo has invited anyone to join a trip to Damascus starting from Zargreb on 16 April. I am hoping to go.
It strikes me our journey would be similar to yours for much of the route if you would like to come, contact Danilo as it is his invitation. I would welcome company on the long two day trip to Zargreb at the start.
