UKGSer’s Wobble Box Weekender - October 2026

It’s all very quiet over there? :nenau

By the way, Kinver Edge is right on the doorstep. Well worth a visit. Dunno if you can still get in the caves, I’ve not been there for years myself.
Oh, and there’s a massive underground bunker under the hill too. They do have visiting days but I doubt it’ll be today or tomorrow.

Unfortunately, Pukmeister, your trip home ain’t gonna much better. The M5 is closed all weekend by Cheltenham / Gloucester while they remove some knackered foot bridges.

If you get to Kinver then please visit the Batham’s pub. Brilliant point and a great pork pie too.

See you later

Jeez. All sitting in thick coats …. Glad I’m at home with a glass in front of the box in a warm living room. 🤣🤣🤣

It’s pretty mild to be fair, though it drops in quickly once the sun goes down.

Thanks to Richard for the bbq and also to John & Gill, Ash and Phil for good company over a bite to eat whilst sat around the fire. Beats sitting in front of the telly on any boring routine weekend “night in” any day, just a shame time runs out eventually and work beckons yet again next week.

Let’s hope the drive home towing the wobbly box tomorrow is less eventful than the drive up and we get home in good time, it’s all a part of life’s rich tapestry.

You bastard . You shouldn’t mock the elderly and lonely . Great comfort can be gained by meeting the like-minded in a boggy swamp in mid October and each savouring a quarter of a soggy Jaffa cake.
It’s heart warming . It truly is

We have had a cracking weekend with great company. Lovely to catch up with old friends and new ones too.

Thanks to Richard for organising and being the perfect host tonight.

Well you better have organised the dancin’ girls for my visit tomorrow 😀

Oh and I forgot to say Richard, Severn Valley Railway is at Bridgnorth. ‘Steam is the dream.’
