UKGSer 'Dent event' Friday 19th - Sunday 21st May 2017

Welll.....back home and had a bath/dram....bliss.

It is obvious that such a weekend as we have had would not suit all, however it suited me very well, as well as those about me. Thankyou.

It would possibly be helpful to have some specifics in order that we could avoid such disappointment in the future?

I for one faced....on both mornings...an awful dilemma....which is worse, facing the rain or crapping in my sleeping bag?

I wonder if we could adapt the well known Helinox chair to provide a solution? A suitable hole carefully cut in the bottom, and a large sheet of clingfilm strategically placed underneath. An obvious drawback would be a tricky gust of wind....from any source....blowing away the clingfilm mid strain. So we could anchor each corner with bungee cord; or this could possibly be a use for surplus cat gut? I am sure Millets would be happy to manufacture the Helicommode given a reasonable market.

Just an idle thought which could have transformed a very good weekend into a perfect weekend.

Thanks to Micky and all those I enjoyed time with.

Thanks once again Micky, I had a great weekend. Banter was fantastic, Stu (brut33) hilarious, especially when he wandered into the George and Dragon restaurant plonked himself down at our table and orders a chip butty. It's considered gourmet food in St Helens. You just can't buy class, nice one Stu :thumb

The cats out the bag!...it's now known that I'm a discerning gastronome.:fnikefork
I nearly ordered it with tomato ketchup on, but I didn't want to come across as a poser.:D

A big thanks to Micky and all who helped to put on a great weekend. An outstanding few days in cracking company. .:beerjug:
...and thanks Norm for the Death Valley beer.:friday:beer: I'm now signing myself into the Priory for a week.
Probably meet Khulu in there.:D

Thankyou Micky , JB and all the others who helped . Another great Dent Event:beerjug:

Andrew and Julie

Thank Micky and Sue - they did it all, not me and what a super job they did

Mick, you have done a grand job and with a greater number of folks this year, it was fab

Sorry I could only manage one day, as matters at home took over this year

Or a hole created following a napalm like gaseous exchange as demonstrated by your good self last night mabe :D :thumb2

You just had to bring that up didn't you? Perhaps the Rocket one was jealous of my musical emmissions?

The other 2 were Mike and Maureen(mspenz)

I don't mean she farted...no no. Well she might have but it wasn't as lavish....I thought I could smell roses....

I second that. Thanks Mickey. And others. Top Job. Next year I'll buy fewer raffle tickets and just donate the cash! Thanks JB for the awesome ride out. I didn't say much but had a blast on those corners. I'm almost an 1150 convert after seeing your minter move!

I was impressed sir, you have clearly mastered the skill of emitting such wonderful crescendos without the ensuing evidential crayon marks :D

Pleased to meet them.... if Maureen did join in it was obviously with a very quiet chorus :D

Thanks for another very enjoyable event and the opportunity to catch up with other like minded tossers that I met last year. A big thank you to Micky for the event and Johnny for Saturday's ride out, I tip my hat to you Sirs.

Great weekend Micky! Cheers,:beerjug:

Thanks to everyone who organised it all.
Good to meet up with those from last year and to meet new people too.

The weekend was made all the better with the absence of NT.:D :beerjug:

I won the Rapberry Vodka despite Spike......:D Hope you and Alex got safely home...........in the car :blast

Hopefully be there again next year:beer:

Thanks again.

ps, who's Rocket Ron? where was his post posted, and why was he upset..........not that I give a fuck!:D

Hey Johno, great to see you two again & yes we did get home safely, and dry, in the CAR. With the tent. Remind me, how was the B&B? :eyebrow

Aye, cracking weekend, thanks Micky for all the work, especially the beer checks you did before we got there. I can confirm that the beer was up to standard.

Minor issue was the requirement for the RAC to drive me home today but if you are going to break down you can't get a much better spot than Dent with the Sun Inn round the corner and some excellent craic going on.

Cheers all.

I second that.

Thanks Mickey. And others. Top Job.

Thanks JB for the awesome ride out.

I didn't say much but had a blast on those corners.

Cheers, it's all in the suspension and I have a nicer one.... tucked up in the garage

1150's .............not all bad

Home , and all scrubbed up , tent and gear all dried and packed away for the next time. Once again, cheers Micky and the rest of the crew, for putting on a top event. Cheers all.:beerjug: As a footnote, i've had the GS 6yrs now , and always used tourance tyres. Thursday night before i left, i took a gamble , and fitted some Avons, after someone had posted an M&P deal on the net, all can say is WOW! What a difference, new tyres in tricky conditions, and they handled everything.well worth a punt for anyone looking fòr new rubber. Once again , all the best to you all.

Thanks Mike

Looks great already there but family commitments now so we shall see what 2017 brings and hopefully will get the courage to get another BMW lol

All the best everyone, be safe and have a great weekend

Hope you get sorted out with something that suits and maybe see you at Dent next year :thumb2
