ukGSer private booking of Ashdown Farm MX

Yup - Same place

I am looking at working on a joint venture with the Loddon TRF guys (who I went with before) to book the place. That way, I am more likely to gaurantee that we can pay for ourselves completely should the weather be inclement

I am also looking into the legal responsibilities of hosting an event and whether insurance is required or not - again, a benefit of a club booking with the TRF.

Will report back soon.

I have not forgotton, But free days are a bit rare that don't clash with other things. It may now have to be sept as we are in Rally Season :pullface!!!

Daz - I thought you were going to get a lighter one this year? Just cos you have got the balls to ride your thing as if it is a skateboard doesn't mean you need to make the rest of us jealous:D - Although, A timed lap between you and moly would be worth running a book for !

Let me know a suggested date. PS What tyres....

Just ordered a set of knobblies for my GSA and live down the road so why not.

BTW, any comments about Conti's v's Pirelli M21's. Went for the Contis but could still change if I get quick advice.

Planning to do a bit of off road but will need decent road performance as maybe riding down to a couple of long distance trials in Cornwall, and planning to ride to finish rather than ride to win......

That said I do have a spare set of wheels so I guess I could lash them on the back seat for the ride down if the consensus is the Conti's are rubbish off road (& they do look it).

Thanks for any tips,

Mike

I didn't think Mt21's where available in the sizes required for the GSA?

If by the "conti's" you mean the TKC's, then they aren't bad, but unless you have some serious talent (something i lack), don't expect to go throwing the GSA around like a lightweight motorcrosser just because it has knobblies on it.

TKC`s are good tyres, ive never had any problems with them, except on my 2010 GSA the rear will only do 1500 miles if im lucky.:blast. But the are the best for offroading a gsa.:thumb2

I am hoping so. The farmer who runs it is out for as much money as he can get and so wants a minimum number (fair enough). But there is no insurance offered and I am just checking that I don't need any to offer a event considering it is not profit making (in fact any money will got straight to the farmer anyway).

Someone else had run an event with a disclaimer form, but mrs dollyrocket (who is a solicitor) thinks it wont hold water so I am in two minds. I am trying to get it in conjunction with the trf and so I can piggy back their insurance but it hasn't met with much favour.

If it is going to be a wet day the track is a quagmire and will not be fun at all for the big bikes. i will ring him to see what dates in sept/oct he has now.
