Unmarked Police Bike

Spotted in Harrogate yesterday a brand new unmarked BMW S1000RR in blue. Very stealth, fitted with large soft tank bag and rear seat bag. The rider looked like he was used to a more comfortable ride by way he hobbled off into a shop after parking up.

Out patrolling again this year around Seaways. Not sure what type it is other than its black with one headlight on (I only saw him/her in my mirrors).

Also a film star :augie

I saw one just outside Wolverhampton, near Wednesbury on the A41 BC route today, he'd pulled a car over.

At first I thought it was an accident "car vs. bike", until I noticed the flashing blue/red light at the back integrated into the tail light. The bike itself was dark grey, looked a bit like a VFR from the fairing (but what do I know)

There were road works so I had a nice slow ride past him to have a good shufty. There were no police markings on the bike of any kind. The only indication that he was a fed was a checkered band on his lid, which he'd left on the seat. I couldn't see anything on the front so that flasher probably built into the fairing or headlight or something.

Chances are you would never know this was police til it was too late. You probably race past him and even give him a wave.

Safe to say my sensible hat was well and truly on from that point. I just wished I'd put my helmet cam on this morning.

They are usually blindingly obvious after a few moments observing their riding. Police roadcraft is a very obvious way of riding.

Perhaps best not to do so until you've had chance to do the above. So ease off when there's another bike around until you are certain it's not the Feds. It's fairly simple stuff.

I have a plan…

I ride an old Airhead, so I cannot speed, pull fast wheelies or perform stoppies, even when I really want to! :D

Or, for when an Airhead is still too fast…

I saw two guys in a layby on the A19 up near Sunderland the other day, both had Monkey Bikes, wondered if they were doing a Tour.
