Updated GS/GSA for late 2017

If you pay for a headlamp conversion and French registration fees I'll give you a grand for it

Headlamp conversion? There is no need for it as it is identical to every other GS on the continent.

According to MCN, I addition to the new dash, the GS will come with "new design of LED auxiliary lights...a tweaked Dynamic ESA and new Pro riding modes as its updated optional extras". Great, I'm feeling even better...

GSA gets the tweaked Dynamic ESA and new Pro riding modes like the GS, it's not updated again just the TFT if have the option or the LED auxiliary lights

Yes, and hill start etc. As said, the MCN said the r1200GS and placed in that word 'tweaked' (meaning next gen esa, as on the current GS?). But agree, could just be shoddy journalism.

These are just the final updates before the GS gets replaced next year. If I was in the market for a new GS, I'd definitely wait to see what the new model will be like.

I think your spot on, new model gs 2018, new model gsa 2019. Long time to wait for a new gsa though.

Yep, half your brain if you would pay 600 quid to replace your working clocks with a Nintendo thing that doesn't even have a real sat nav integrated

Someone's having a larf :blast

+1 I will stick with the standard clocks and my Nav V

£595 for something you already have is madness

KTM are having issues with the clocks on the 1290R and S, where some dealers are updating the software, and frying the clocks. A few disgruntled owners left without a bike, with upcoming trips. Mine was meant to be updated on Saturday, but we ran out of time, luckily.

Sounds like a close shave. I'm curious though ... someone mentioned that you kept your GS and have both bikes.
I really think the KTM is overall a slightly better bike than the GS. However "factor in" the chain faff, shit panniers, high speed wobbles, and inevitable KTM dealer hassles and it's questionable whether it's worth making the move imho.

"If you want to buy it on its own it will be £3297.42" Well I would want my head examined if I ever thought of buying some LCD fashion accessory at that price. Well it takes all sorts reminds me of that fairy story about the Kings suit of clothes, well he wasn't wearing any was he?

Yep, I've got both bikes. The KTM is more lively, and now it's been Hilltopped, I'm really enjoying it.

With decent chain cleaning/ lube products, the chain isn't much of a faff, I don't have panniers, and the high speed wobble is yet another Internet forum over hyped non starter.

I've found a great dealer that puts the others I've visited to shame, so all in all I'd say that so far my KTM owning experience has been fantastic.:beerjug:

Nutty, I am looking at going Orange.....so name and praise your dealer if you wouldn't mind.

Cheers
