Urgent, Help required

[Striker]

A friend just called me, he is on his way back from Scotland and needs some help.His bike is cutting out at half throttle, but was Ok before he filled the tank with Diesel. He has drained it and washed the tank with petrol, he says it runs fine up to the half throttle position then cuts out and back fires.

Any suggestions please as he'll be back on the phone soon.

I suggested he disconnect the battery to reset the ECU, and look at the side stand switch.

nah just ride it till the fresh petrol washes the diesel out and keep topping up with super unleaded every chance that occurs!

Sometimes people post genuine cries for help on here. It may be something as trivial as having run out of fuel.
We all rally to help.

Sometimes it sounds like your mate contaminated his fuel system with diesel.
