My wife and I are planning a trip from ALaska to California on motorcyles (one each). We have been surfing the web and have not found any companies that would offer a bike rental option to do this trip end to end. Before we compromise this idea with other options (including shipping my R1200GSA!) we thought we would try here first. So DOES ANYONE KNOW OF A COMPANY THAT WOULD OFFER A MOTORCYLE RENTAL SERVICE WHICH WOULD ENABLE US TO RIDE FROM ALASKA TO CALIFORNIA. Thanks..

Another plan is to buy a Bike (or 2) from a dealer with an agreed? buy back price after your trip - works for some

I know of a couple of rental companies in Alaska but they keep their bikes in state as it were. I very much doubt you could rent one for this trip.

Freighting your GSA is the easiest option. Into Anchorage and back out of SF or LA. Easy to do and you get to do it on your own steed.

When are you planning to go as I'll be doing an organised SF-Alaska-SF trip in 2011 and will be shipping a number of bikes out in a container

My wife and I did travel last year on 2 BMW R1200GS motorcycles in California. We did rent them at Dubbelju in st. Francisco but I do not know if they have pick-up service in Alaska....
