Can anyone recommend a decent smallish bar-mounted single USB port (preferably switched) wired to the battery to enable me to use my iPhone for nav purposes on my 2008 Bonneville, please?

Seems to be a lot of cheap Chinese tat out there, looking for something reliable

Don't dismiss the cheap Chinese tat - it is used by many and works very well - plus the branded kit which is top price probably originates in the same factories

check in with nippy normans ,he has a good selection of items like this to choose from.

Some of them have a bright blue l.e.d light inside that helps you remember to switch them off or that their power supply has failed somewhere

In which case they’d be potentially distracting at night.

Things wired directly to the battery are a mess.

Use something really simple, like the excellent Thunderbox, which will do away with the need for a switch completely.

As to the USB socket itself? Anything simple and cheap will do.

I was given the heads-up for the Thunderbox on UKGSer, It’s an excellent device.
