Using a GS as a towing mule

I think it has to be done very carefully in that respect. Technically, you are changing the category of the vehicle.

It needs to be clip on/ offable i reckon... but speaking to a proper sidecar bloke would be of great advantage i think. If you speak to
http://www.charnwoodclassic.com/ im sure he would be able to help you out. He has done some awesome stuff with sidecar busa's etc. Hes in coalville though ... bit of an inbreeding problem round there.... :augie

Was'nt there a side car for Learners a few years ago??
IIRC wasn't it to allow riding bigger CC. bikes without doing a test...?

The Jaymic Sidewinder ....

Or these people seem to have some neat sidecar and trailer solutions ...

hey romeo, is that you? or a pic you found on t'web. If its you would you mind taking some more detailed pics? ... Im half inspired to build my own as it would sort out my transportation problems when i buy & sell bikes :)

Then a U shaped section for the front wheel of the trials bike to lift into which can be ratcheted down to keep it in place. It should then roll along on its back wheel next to and slightly behind the 650. :thumb2

This won't be leagle. The bike will need to be carrid in it's entirety, as shown in Romeo's post.

No the picture isnt of me but of a friend of mine.He doesnt have the sidecar ant more though. It was an ordinary sidecar frame with only the middle rail added on.

cheers romeo. Yeah i think buying a secondhand sidecar from ripping the top bit off is the way to go. Most of the hardwork would be done then.

Could you tell me why not?

I think a chat with a sidecar specialist is in order as Vilguy suggests.

I couldn't quote any specific laws, but it would be to do with the fact that the bike is only partially suspended and also next to the 650 instead of on a fixed to towed platform.

What about a REALLY big rucksack.....?? :nenau

You may laugh, but i know high-tower really well, he's that tall he belongs in a circus. If anyone can take it, he can. :hide

I still think that a clever rack on the back of the bike would do the job. How hard can it be to lift a tiddler like a trialler?

Well, on the way out, it is a real pain, as they are not exactly a good shape for lifting up.

On the way home, though, when you are shaking from the effort of the off-roading, nursing a sore wrist, and tired, then it is much much worse.

I used to have a conventional trailer for a 100kg trail bike, and there were times when even getting it onto that and tying it down was a real trial.

I am surprised that there aren't any good dirt tracks with storage, or with bike rental. I can't have a trailer or van (I am already taking the piss with two bikes and a car squeezed into my docklands garage), and so don't get to offroad any more.

I built this for me mate Tim he had a landcruiser engine and gearbox on the frame once and said it went where he dragged it
