V Strom or Varadero??

Thanks for the replies folks. Glad to see I have not been totally disowned. Still love the GS but cant tolerate the reliability issues. Did go to the dealer and would have cost £4k to change to new bike. In all honesty I would have done the deal as I do think I have a particularly bad one. (early 04 plate). However SWMBO did put the idea to rest and to be honest I can see why. Have heard a rumour that Honda are going into direct opposition with the GS next year with the new Varadero. Might just wait till then to see what they come up with. I have said before if Honda built the GS it WOULD be the best bike on the planet. Just hoping this GS can go on till then. If not it will probably be the Varadero. Once again thanks for the advice and replies.

I've heard that too, I wonder if they'll turn the Vara into the AT replacement it always should have been IMO. As much as I've loved my (supposedly more reliable) 1150's, I also have niggles with BM build quality/reliablilty, so if Honda do a good job on the new Vara - I'll be first in the queue

Also keen to see the new Tenere and mildy interested in the BM 800GS, but I'd need a lot of pursuading to head back down that strasse, IYKWIM
