V85TT reflections after 4000 miles

closest thing to a R1150GS if you want a new bike

air cooled twin, shaft drive, about 80bhp

with useful gadgets like cruise control and on that Travel model, luggage and a heated seat.
I thought so
Rode lovely
Suspension needs a bit of fettling and dialling in, I guess
Lots of potential
Travel version seemed the best VFM and I think the blue looks classy

not really, mine is left on standard apart from increasing the preload for luggage

there again, I have never been inclined to mess with any of my bikes to any great extent

yes, the brown was the only Travel option when I bought mine last year but the new blue is nicer

I only paid £12k for a new Euro 5+ bike last year.

Think they’re about £12500 now for Travel

I chopped mine in for a r1250r. I was sad to see her going. I had a job getting a good trade in price for it. Duffys offered me €3500 for it. Obviously didn’t want me or my bike. Kearys went €7500. There seems to be massive discounts when the dealer wants to offload a few new bikes. There was nothing wrong with the bike I’d had it 2 years and just wanted to go back to bmw. I had ridden the stevileo but the bm stole my heart. Lovely ride from Cork. 300 km for 14 liters with the last .5 dribbled in. I’m in love. JJH

Enjoyed that report on v85tt ownership, I stopped riding GS when the 1200 went watercooled and became an appliance imo. The v85tt took me back too air/oil cooled world and I enjoyed every mile. Sadly servicing in my part of the world was very poor happy to say the least, dealership lost the piaggio franchise.
Certainly in my top5 bikes.

I have ridden a few (prob 4 ) and everyone the engine was a peach smooth and grunty - wonder if yours had issues, I found the suspension a bit harsh on the Std one but really liked the S, agree on the clutch bit of an odd feeling but not as bad as my Multistrada 950
