I am considering selling my GSA

First regitered 10 April 2006
One carefull owner from new
ABS, hetaed grips, factory fog lights (although they have broken off, but easily replaced on existing brackets)
Full dealer service history
BMW extended warranty
35500 miles
Just had its 36k service
New rear disc & pads fitted
TKC's on it with about 1500-2000 miles left on them
Good general condition (small dent in exhaust header), no corrosion, comes up well when cleaned
Silver/grey colour
Been a very reliable bike for me
Would need an MOT

Any ideas what I should expect

7k if its ok.

A month ago I bought 07 gsa 28000miles full history 1 owner and mint like new.full alloy luggage £7300. private

What did SBW offer you Dave?

Although my long time favoured dealer, why is it salesmen think you are stupid!!

He must have thought I had watched the movie and would pay anything and insisted I needed a fully loaded bike instead of what I actually wanted.

He was trying to sell YOU what he had most of and could sell easily and maybe clinch an instant impulse purchase there and then............his mistake:blast

Young Darkhorse is not easily swayed (well.............not on the bike front:green gri)

You should know the tricks..................suck teeth, say its high miles and offer you <£7k:tears..................stealer:mad:

Trouble is.................new bikes sell easily - free panniers, cheap HP - dealers have to work harder to sell a secondhand bike and most are awash with secondhand stock................coming into autumn:tears

Am I right or wrong:nenau

Hurry up though........................we've got a jaunt planned in 6 weeks, sir:thumb2:bounce1

I guess it was worse than your offer from the Isle of Man dealer then. I thought the idea of the option list was to allow the buyer to choose exactly what they want, but perhaps the sales people think otherwise.

Feck me it's like a game of poker.

Mixed prices (5 - 6k) some insults and then I went to Park Lane (4k) I haven't felt like loosing my temper for a long time but that was testing. They even want to charge more than rrp that is on the BMW site.

Haven't got the energy for this bike changing game, I will keep my money in the safe and carry on riding my cuurent bike.

There are a lot of used units on the market. Typical is a 2006 with 20k miles from a dealer for £6.5 - £7.5K with luggage

With almost twice the average mileage, for a private deal I would ask around £6300 if I wanted to sell it reasonably fast

I would say about right. Cheers

I've had the same experience, I didn't understand where they got their quote from. Shame I live very close to their service shop, but I'll be going elsewhere instead! :rocketwho
