Having just bought a vara-dildo, I was wondering if anyone could recommend a decent tank bag?

I would like it to be waterproof if possible without one of those plastic covers, doesn't have to be to big as got a topbox for that.

Any idea's or suggestions?

Sam

I have one of Mr Honda's finest motorcycles too - welcome to the world of varadero.
May I respectfully point you in the direction of the following 3 most excellent forums for further perusing - may I also add that UKgser is a supreme forum sadly frequented by those who have not yet seen the light :D

Anyway, I use a basic oxford tankbag - not yet tested in heavy rain so I'm not much help on this point
Take the good advice from this forum about tankbags - I should think that any mentioned here should fit the varadero anyway.

3 forums mentioned - remember this forum is a veritable mine of information, some of it good :thumb

Good luck with your fine buy and may you never see a breakdown truck ;)

VD is definitely spreading :D

I also use a cheap Oxford magnetic tank bag for normal day to day use. It's fine for everything up to really torrential rain for extended periods of time. The fairing and screen (MRA Vario) are really effective at keeping the bad weather off so it doesn't get tested that often :thumb2

Sorry for delay in replying, been working my way through those 3 sites! There's a load of good stuff on them.... especially about those chain thingies that are on the back wheel, strange things them after my GS!

Yeah I thought about one of them as I've got somekind of bigger screen on, i'll see what I can find

I have a Buffalo tank bag that I used on mine, seemed to seat quite well. Internal compartment damn good for moderate to heavy rain but in the heavy stuff the two side pods and the map pocket can become damp. The bag comes for a rain cover for this eventuallity.

Probaly not an issue on the varadero but on the Bandit way back when when travelling all day in the rain water can run under the bag, build up and evenutally soak in from underneath but I resolved this by making an internal bucket out of duct tape. =D

The bag has lasted the test of time also. Adhered really well to the Varadero but not so much to the Fazer before it, on one occasion it peeled off and I caught it as it flew over my shoulder and there on another occasion while practising emergency stops (mhuhaha) it departed the bike and had a bit of a slid opening one of the magnet pouches to air, which I reparted with duct tape again.

Anyway, Good product.
