Following my acquiring a set of Vern's panniers in the auction, I have been advised that I'll need to change my rear indicators.
As I've just installed a set of Malky's Widetails, (which I think are ace) I don't want to lose them.

Questions therefore are:

Vern - how much space do I have between the panniers to squeeze indicators in ?

Existing Vern customers - what have you done about it?

Malky - Do your widetail LEDs fit any other flasher ?

cheers all

I've fitted a set of mini indicators from Hein Gericke. They work great with Verns panniers, but Malkys' wide-tail LED's don't fit into them.:(

I'm really gutted, as Malky's wide-tails work really well. I was following some fellow GSser's in the rain who had them fitted and the difference in the visibilty that they made, was amazing.

I'm keeping my wide-tails for now -hopefully one of us will get a solution to fitting them again. Good luck & let us know if you sort it.

If the indictors on a R1150 are the same as the R1100 then very simple. the whole of your indicator comes apart, when you remove all the bits you will find the indicator rubber stem can be cut down to size and the excess metal rod can be pushed into the indicator lens casing this makes it possable to use Malkys lights.

I think that's said it all. Touratech indicators and Malky's lights, and the gap between boxes is 405mm(ish)

Or you can buy the rear indicator stalks of an R1100R, a couple of quid each I think. Mind you it's about as tight as you want to get them in there.
Final answer. Touratech mini indicators with Malky's wide tail installed. That's the official and final reply (unless I think of anything else):D

cheers

Thanks Guys, that'll be the route I go down then.

Terry,
Lucky nothing............ you was nobbled :P

Which ones?

Need the officially sanctioned Touratech mini indicators (to go with my nice new shiny Vern's panniers), but there are several listed on the Touratech UK website. Can anyone help with the correct part numbers please?

Wait till tomorrow

Paul, I'm just off the phone with Touratech and they don't know!

Nick Plumb is apparently up a mountain and won't be down till later.

No Nick Plumb's on the back page of RiDE this month, talking about nicking bikes or sumfing!

Thanks Snodog.

Anybody with these indicators know which ones? Or if you have a photo, we can compare with Touratech site.
Thanks.

This is what I ordered for Nick in June:

Touratech mini indicators
Code 01_040_0207_0 (quantity 1, mini indicator 21W M12x1.25 VR)
Code 01_040_0208_0 (quantity 1, mini indicator 21W M12x1.25 VL)
These are a right and left pair to fit a BMW R1150GS.

Be prepared for some fiddling around to adapt the wiring connectors, but once fitted they work a treat.

Touratech BAh humbug

Dont try to get any sense out of tourashat UK, they are completely useless and watch out the sneaky b*****ds charge your card even if they dont have the parts in stock and cant get them for weeks... And then you'll get german instructions... anyway they wont have to worry about cancer :D :D

Iain.

TT - not all bad

Spoke to Nick yesterday and got the indicators sorted out. Same as Ian B.

My other stuff arrived 5 days after being ordered which is fine.
Downside - as iaintook points out is that all of the instructions for everything are in German. Way beyond my school boy knowledge !

I did work out how the GPS mount fits ( without referring to the sheet) but the Hardpart is a bit different. And what the heck do I do with that springy bracket that i am assuming is something to with protecting the brake line........

Sometimes I wish I :
a. was slightly less of a techiephobe
b. had never fallen under the influence of you lot.
